Jude has been going to Discovery Central for three years, year round. These folks have been an extraordinary influence and a very big part of our life. When he started at this facility he couldn't talk and now he can write words, do early math and even started reading a little. The kids learn by playing which I have seen has amazing results. The teachers engage the children by reading, doing science experiments, teaching them about artists by allowing them to mimic their techniques and they build some super cool stuff as a class. On top of learning academically, they go on some amazing adventures downtown. They discover hidden parks, visit the fire station, post office and even went to a farm. I have no doubt he is emotionally, intellectually and socially ready to begin kindergarten and I have to give most of that credit to the wonderful people at Discovery Central. This kid is pretty amazing and they definitely can take some of the credit for that. I cannot say enough great things about this place and our family will miss it so very much.

Discovery Central has been a wonderful introduction to socialization and education for our daughter. From the start, I’ve known that while she’s at school, there is space for her to be who she is and learn who she is becoming in an environment that nurtures social emotional development & creative exploration. My three year old has the best time at Discovery Central. He is learning numbers, letters, and songs  to prepare for school. He is making friends, enjoying all Presque Isle has to offer, and spending quality time outside learning about the natural world. The Junior Naturalist Club has been a great way for our son to safely socialize and get outside this year.  It’s something he looks forward to every week.  Now, when we hike as a family, he tells his little brothers what he’s learning: identifying animal tracks, names of plants and insects, and pointing out rock formations.  It’s been educational for our whole family!  As usual, Discovery Central has put together a program that ignites kids’ curiosity and helps them explore in meaningful ways.
